Top honour in North Devon went to Fremington, who won a gold award in the category for villages of 1,500 to 2,499 people.

Ilfracombe and Torrington both won silver gilts in their categories, while there were three local honours for villages in the under-1,500 people category; Berrynarbor and Littleham won silver gilt awards, while Chulmleigh won silver.

The competition, which forms part of the Royal Horticultural Society's Britain in Bloom competition, also featured Neighbourhood Awards for community organisations in Bideford and Ilfracombe. Merit awards went to Instow Community Primary School, Ilfracombe Community Resources CIC, the Cairn Local Nature Reserve, and Cow Green, while an Improvement Award went to the Calf Green Allotment Garden.
