A 10-feet long photograph of Appledore Quay will be one of the items to be auctioned at a charity event in the village on May 29.The auction is being organised by Appledore Arts and the West Quay Fundraisers in aid of future arts festival events and worthy local causes.Barry Lewis of the Royal George pub in Appledore will auction off lots donated by local craftspeople.Some of the artwork is already on display at the Beaver Inn, the Royal George and there will be a preview afternoon in St Mary's Church on the day of the auction.This year's arts festival, now in its 12th year, will be opened on May 27 by the chiming of Appledore's new Time and Tide bell. The theme is Fire and Fury with exhibits coming from as far away as Australia.
