Giant tractor is back where it belongs after 25 years
A Ford TW35 tractor named ‘Big Blue’ has returned home to Holsworthy after almost a quarter of a century.
The four-wheel drive was bought new by Kenvyn Furse in 1986 and was then the largest Ford tractor ever retailed in Devon and Cornwall.
He sold it to a Shropshire buyer when it had 3,600 miles on the clock, but now 84, he always said he regretted the sale and would regale his grandchildren with tales of the big blue beast.
Then, by chance, last year his son Luke and grandson Lloyd went to buy a Claas Lexion 450 combine harvester from Rodney Cowle Machinery.
Amazingly, a TW35 SuperQ with Furse on the log book had just passed through.
A deal was struck with collector Robin Sanders and ‘Big Blue’ came home.
Kenvyn cannot stop talking about this truly remarkable find as he never thought he would see his beloved TW again – which even now only shows 5,245 hours and is still on its original rear tyres.
