A Bideford theme park has decided to re-name its new rollercoaster just a week after the ride launched with signs asking thrill-seekers not to scream and upset that neighbours. The Big Sheeps star attraction, The BIG One, has ben renamed The Screamer following a barrage of national and international media interest this week. Park director Rick Turner said he had decided to go with the flow instead of being branded a kill joy. He said new signs would be erected today (April 1) to encourage riders to scream if they want to go faster on the multi-million pound rollercoaster, billed the biggest, highest and fastest in the South West. If you cant stop them, lets join them and lets all raise the levels of noise here, said Mr Turner. We are going to run with the saying scream if you want to go faster; we will then turn up the speed and then see how loudly they will scream. Mr Turner said the current signs which state, This is a family ride not a white knuckle thrill ride. Enjoy the views but we love our neighbours. PLEASE DO NOT SHOUT OR SCREAM! - Thank Ewe will now be taken down. The re-launch will be over the next few weeks and we hope the extra noise will drown out the concerns of any of the neighbours who live in our local village of Abbotsham, he said. The new roller coaster, which opened to visitors on Good Friday, is 400m long, more than 12m high and reaches speeds of almost 30mph.
