BIDEFORD solicitor Jeremy John Ferguson, pictured above, is celebrating 50 years in the legal profession. He did his Articles with Foot Anstey in Exeter and was admitted as Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in November, 1958.Mr Ferguson became a partner in Seldon,Ward and Nuttall solicitors of Bideford in 1960 and five years later became deputy coroner for North Devon.In 1974 he formed his own practice Jeremy Ferguson, now Chanter Ferguson.He represented Norman Scott during the Jeremy Thorpe affair and defended Corky the Cockerel in the famous case in Hartland.He is a qualified pilot and part-owner of a light aircraft and other hobbies include motor racing, broadcasting and cooking.www.northdevon.gov.uk
