Barnstaple Street in Bideford was closed in both directions due to a serious collision this morning (Thursday). One woman was cut from a car by fire fighters and has been taken to hospital with what was intially thought to be serious injuries. Her injuries turned out to not be as serious as first thought The collision between three vehicles - a Vauxhall Mokka from Bideford, Vauxhall Insignia from Birmingham and Vauxhall Astra from Bideford - happened at around 9.05am. Police said the exact details of the incident were unclear at this time but one vehicle appeared to have collided with a wall and the two other vehicles. The road reopened shortly after 11am. There is still some slow traffic where the road was closed between Manteo Way and the Royal Hotel, but this is now easing.
