Prime Minister Theresa May has also written in support of the event.

In a letter to organisers she said: “Each and every Pride organiser and volunteer should be proud of the work they do to arrange these events that attract hundreds and thousands of individuals each year.”

Mrs May signed off the letter: “I wish you all the best for a very enjoyable Bideford Pride!”
