The 19-year-old disqualified from driving after failing to stop at the scene of the accident.

A Bideford man who caused £3,900 of damage to a house's wall by hitting it with his car has been disqualified from driving for eight months.

Jack Jason Symons, 19, of Westcombe Lane pleaded guilty to five charges at North Devon Magistrates' Court on Friday, including failing to stop after an accident, failing to report an accident and driving without a valid licence or insurance.

Symons had been test driving a 15-year-old Vauxhall Corsa along Alverdiscott Road at 9pm on October 7, 2014, when he said a mechanical failure led to him mounting the nearside kerb and 'demolishing' the wall outside of a house, causing £3,887.92 of damage.

Symons will also undertake 40 hours of unpaid work and pay £185 in compensation and costs.
