Bideford will be hosting its Christmas Light Switch On event on Sunday.

The festive fun will begin at midday with a Santa fun run, musical entertainment, fairground rides and more.

The lights will be switched on by Bideford youngster George Jeffrey and Westward Ho! girl Jessica Pritchard.

This will be followed by a reindeer parade and fireworks.

Bideford Light Switch On full programme

Midday: Hopps and Chapple kick off the stage events from the Quay. There wil be Phil Vanstone's fairground rides and fantastic street entertainers, including magician Dave Hendy and Abi Falkner's stilt walkers.

3pm: The third ever Santa Run in aid of Children's Hospice South West starts at 3pm, with a comical warm up leading to hundreds of festive runners taking on the 2km fun run.

The race is open to children, adults, and even pets, and entry costs £15 per adult, to include a costume, at chsw.org.uk

All afternoon: A chance to meet your favourite characters, including Pokemon, Paw Patrol, minions, two super heroes, Peppa Pig and more.

Crowds can also sing along to festive tunes with performances from St Mary's School Choir, Bideford Town Band and Bideford Youth Pipe Band.

5pm: The switch will be thrown from the main stage on The Quay by Ben and Jessica, with thousands of people gathering to watch the town glitter.

5.30pm: A reindeer parade will make its way through the town with a special appearance from Father Christmas.

6.45pm: Fireworks.
