Bideford hosted its town fair on Saturday in Victoria Park.

The sun shone down on the day, which was officially opened by mayor Doug Bushby, with the mayor’s parade.

This was followed by a whole day of fun and family activities.

Falconry displays, majorettes, gymnastics and Samba dancing entertained crowds during the day.

There was also a family fun dog show, which was judged by the mayor along with mayoress Sheila Bushby.

Children were entertained by Punch and Judy shows and balloon modelling.

John Puddy’s miniature steam train was giving free rides, and there was a display of vintage motorbikes, cars and a fire engine.

It was also the return of the free artwork displays along Bideford Quay, and initiative pioneered by Torridge councillor Johnny Langton-Lockton.

The fair was organised by Bideford Town Council.
