The streets of Bideford sparkled yesterday (Sunday) as the town enjoyed its annual Christmas lights switch on.
The switch was thrown 15-year-old Courtney Jeffery, who was accompanied by her mum Sue and Bideford mayor Doug Bushby.
Throughout the afternoon there was entertainment from stilt walkers, Dreckly the Dragon, and various dance troupes and choirs.
There was musical entertainment from bands and choirs, including Hubba Choir, Bideford Town Band, St Mary’s School Choir and Dynamix.
There were also dance displays including from Xplosion Cheer, Louisa Hockins School of Performing Arts and Dance Fit.
The event was compered by DJ Jude and Co. After the big switch on was a reindeer and lantern parade, including Father Christmas, led by Bideford Massed Pipes and Drums.
The evening ended with a fireworks finale, which crowds gathered to watch on The Quay.
