Better toilets are to be provided at Woolacombe Village Hall thanks to £5,500 given by Devon County Council from funds allocated from the sale of Exeter International Airport. The money towards the complete renovation of the toilets has been allocated by Combe Martin Rural county Councillor Andrea Davis from her local projects fund.Councillor Davis said: "Woolacombe Village Hall is very much a focal point of the local community. I am very pleased that I have been able to support the improvement to the hall's facilities. The renovations will help to ensure the continuing availability of this important village amenity for local residents."Chairman of the village hall committee Martyn Hocking said: "The rising costs of the day to day running of a community building such as Woolacombe Village Hall mean that the village hall management committee struggles to fund any major schemes such as the renovation of our aged toilets. Help such as this from the County Council is greatly welcomed and will benefit all in our community. We look forward to inviting Councillor Davis to the official opening later in the year.
