A 24-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries in two-car crash on Friday, and police are now appealing for witnesses.

A 24-year-old woman has been left ‘critically’ injured following a two-car collision in Halwill, near Beaworthy, on Friday afternoon.

The woman, from Beaworthy, was driving a VW Golf which was involved in the collision on the A3079 at around 4.30pm.

She was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where she remains with life-threatening injuries.

A man driving a Lexus involved in the collision, from Bournemouth, was also taken to North Devon District Hospital with a serious leg injury.

The road was closed for eight hours while investigations were underway, and police are now appealing for witnesses.

They are asking anyone who might have seen either vehicle being driven on the A3079 before the crash to come forward.

Anyone who can assist with the investigation is asked to contact Sergeant Ken George by calling police on 101, quoting log 624 of 12/06/15.
