New facility in Pottington to officially open with free business networking event on Thursday, July 24.
A free business networking event will be held to officially launch the brand new Barnstaple Work Hub on Thursday, July 24.
The hub offers office space and hot desk rental as well as meeting rooms available for public hire, all with super fast broadband and printing facilities.
Manager Amelia Isaac said since opening in April the office spaces were now fully booked with a waiting list and she was excited to see how the hub was growing.
“I didn’t want to launch it without having any of the offices filled but my son quoted a film telling me to ‘build it and they will come’,” she said.
“I wish there had been somewhere like this for me when I started my business, it’s like a third space because it’s not quite home and not quite work.
“It means people who are starting up can have somewhere to meet clients and be able to separate their home life from work.”
Amelia is hosting an event to mark the opening of the hub and hopes it will provide businesses with a chance to learn and network with each other.
From 2pm until 7.30pm there will be an official opening, a tour of the space, free sessions and presentations and a wine, cheese and networking evening.
Training sessions include cloud computing, steps for social media success, speed networking and a demo of 3D chocolate printing.
Barnstaple Work Hub is based at 1 Upcott Avenue, Pottington, Barnstaple.
