POLICE in Barnstaple are seeking witnesses following an assault in the town which left a 37-year-old local woman with facial injuries.
The incident took place between midnight and 1am on Saturday, May 30 at the Bus Station on Belle Meadow Road when an argument broke out between the victim and two women.
One of the women is alleged to have taken off her shoe and hit the victim twice in the face with it. The second woman then punched her three times.
The victim sustained a cut to her forehead, together with heavy bruising and a swelling under her right eye.
