Police and ambulance staff are currently at the scene of The Panniers pub in Barnstaple after a man suffered a cardiac arrest.
The Panniers pub in Barnstaple has been cordoned off by police this afternoon (Thursday).
Police were called to the scene at 9.40am at the request of ambulance staff.
A police spokesman said a man had suffered a cardiac arrest at the Wetherspoon pub in Boutport Street.
Scenes of crime officers attended the scene and the spokesman said the man was taken to hospital in a ‘serious condition’.
The pub is still closed. Police said this was a management decision and not for further investigations.
Police said they could not confirm at this stage if an investigation was ongoing.
