Thousands of pounds worth of power tools have been stolen by thieves after a series of vans were broken into in Barnstaple.
On the night of March 19 four vehicles were broken into on Old Bideford Road, Bicton Street, Belmont Road and Clifton Terrace.
Several local tradesmen have taken to social media to warn others and help police appeal for witnesses.
Officers are reminding the public not to leave any valuables inside their vehicles and have advised they be parked in a garage or on a driveway if possible.
They have also recommended engraving, colouring or marking tools in some way to make them recognisable in case they are taken in the future.
More advice on keeping vehicles safe from thieves can be found on the Devon and Cornwall Police website. Anyone who saw anything or has any information is asked to contact police by calling 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
