Loungers will be opening its premises at the High Street entrance of the shopping centre on Wednesday, July 4. The restaurant, café and bar will be called Tarko Lounge, and will create 25 jobs for local people. The Westcountry-based group is promising to transform the unit into a family-friendly, retro-inspired cosy retreat with vintage sofas, old-school benches pop art-inspired table tops and statement lighting. Loungers operations manager Nicholas Mann said: Were really looking forward to throwing open the doors at Tarko Lounge and showing the locals how to lounge in style. The team at Tarko Lounge is also looking forward to becoming part of the community and will support local groups and initiatives wherever possible. As well as a community notice board, Tarko Lounge will also have a book swap area and the team will also be holding regular fundraising events. There will also be plenty for kids, with games and books and a craft area with colouring pencils and pads.
