Barnstaple store treats dogs for Christmas

A trolley load of tasty canine delights has been donated to Dogs Trust Ilfracombe by the Barnstaple Focus store.

General manager Jason Putt presented the trolley, loaded with food, treats and beddings, to Claire Joselin from the dog rehoming centre near West Down.

He said the DIY and gardening specialist was keen to support local community projects and charities and pleased to be able to support this worthy cause.

Claire said the centre currently has up to 80 dogs on site, so such fantastic support from local businesses was very welcome.

“The weather has made it difficult for people to get to us,” she said.

“We have quite a few Jack Russells in at the moment and they are going to love the cosy little beds. A big thank you to everyone at Focus for their kind donation.”

The Dogs Trust does not rehome animals during the Christmas period, but is open to visitors every day except Wednesday from 12 noon to 4pm. It is best to call (01271) 812709 to confirm a visit, or go to www.dogstrust.org.uk to find out more and see its residents online.
