Barbara Wrenns shoe room houses more than 50 pairs of shoes in display shelving along one wall, and theres even a plush chair to sit and admire them from. The 47-year-olds efforts have put her in the running to win a cash prize after she entered the MyBuilders MyRoom Award - a competition for surprising or unusual uses of space in the homes of the UK. The idea was a simple one for Barabara. I was fed up of pulling out shoe boxes to look for the ones I want. The cheapest option was to do it like this, and I can just have them all on display, she said. What was going to be shelving turned into a whole room. Barbara has worn all of her shoes in the room most of which are Irregular Choice except for one prized pair: a £500 set of Jimmy Choo shoes which she says she will never wear. I wear a lot of them to work and get lots of nice comments, said Barbara. Ive got a lot of favourites but it depends what mood Im in really.
