Hundreds of people flocked to Barnstaple Pannier Market to celebrate North Devon’s seafood offerings.

Barnstaple Pannier Market was filled with the sights, smells and tastes of seafood from around the region on Sunday.

The first Seafood Festival, in conjunction with FLAG, saw hot food, delicious wares and cookery demonstrations.

And there were some fiesty visitors too, with Geoff Morton of Fat Belly Fred’s, bringing along some rather large crabs.

Emma Lowe, from North Devon Hospice’s fundraising team, thanked volunteers and said: “We couldn’t be more pleased with how the Seafood Festival went.

“The Pannier Market was so busy, and almost all the stalls completely sold out of food well before the end of the day.

“The atmosphere was incredible and to see so many people enjoying the very best that North Devon has to offer was very fulfilling.

“It was a great showcase for local producers and we’re lucky to live in an area with so much amazing food right on our doorstep.”
