Boutport Street now closed following relocation to WHSmith

Barnstaple Post Office has moved from Boutport Street to a new home on the High Street.

The relocation to WHSmith followed a six-week consultation earlier this year.

The branch – including existing staff – moved to the new site last Thursday.

There are four serving positions and two self-service kiosks.

Ahead of the consultation, Roger Gale, general manager of the Post Office Crown network, said: “Our collaboration with WHSmith helps secure the long-term viability of services for local customers. We are making sure we take the right course of action to sustain services for years to come.”

Mr Gale said the move was adapting to the changing needs of customers who ‘want a more convenient and flexible choice’.

The new branch will be open from 9am to 5.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; 9.30am to 5.30pm on Tuesdays; and 9am to 12.30pm on Saturdays.
