In a town that has changed so much, time has stood still for Barnstaples Albert Clock. Built in 1862 to commemorate the death of Prince Albert, the affectionately-named Four-Faced Liar so called because each of the towers four faces tells a slightly different time the clock tower has seen Barnstaple evolve around it. Dear old Albert was restored bell and all in 2009. Very few Barumites have seen inside the landmark clock tower but Barnstaple photographer Simon Ellery was given special permission to capture the clocks inner workings earlier this month. Check out Simons pictures and watch his interview with Ian Parker, Barnstaple Town Councils amenities and property manager.
