Fundraiser for cats at Pets at Home this weekend, June 7-9

CASH for kitties is the fund raising theme of an event being hosted by Pets at Home in Barnstaple this weekend.

From Friday to Sunday the pet store on Seven Brethren is aiming to raise money for Barnstaple Cats Protection, as part of a national fund raising weekend for the charity.

It will be offering customers the chance to ‘Round up to a Pound’, selling Paw Print pin badges, as well as taking donations for the charity at the till.

Barnstaple Cats Protection will have a stall in store during the weekend and will be giving away children’s cat masks, car stickers, bookmarks, stickers and badges. There will also be a chance for children to win a fluffy cat toy and to get their faces painted.

“Our branch is excited to be part of this national fund raising weekend and we hope lots of cat lovers will come along and support us as it will help raise some much needed funds to enable us to care for even more cats,” said Sue Carder from the charity.

The Barnstaple branch currently has 32 cats and kittens in its care awaiting new homes. If you are interested in adopting a cat, call Sarah Pincombe at the Barnstaple branch on 08453 714203.
