Will you be watching the show from Barnstaple Square and Long Bridge on Saturday, December 31?

Barnstaple will be celebrating New Year's Eve with a firework show to remember.

Barnstaple Town Centre Management has confirmed 2017 will be welcomed with a bang and a riverside fireworks display set off from Anchorwood Bank.

Umberleigh-based Brightburst Fireworks will be running the display for the final time, following on from last year and the Christmas lights switch-on festivities.

Owner Oliver Ackland said: "I'm really excited for the big show for New Year's Eve. The Brightburst team are honoured to be igniting the skies above Barnstaple once again!

"This will be our third year curating the exciting display and will, unfortunately, be our last so we are looking forward to making it one to remember."

People traditionally gather in the Square in the run up to midnight and on the Long Bridge to watch the show. The bridge itself will be closed from 11.45pm to 12.15am.

Town centre manager Hannah Harrington said: "I am really excited revellers in Barnstaple will be able to welcome the New Year with a spectacular display by Brightburst; they always do such a fantastic job in pleasing the crowd and leaving them in awe.

"New Year's Eve is a special time that brings everybody together and fireworks are a great way to celebrate the new opportunities and excitement the year will bring."
