The annual event will take place in The Square on Saturday.

BARNSTAPLE will be celebrating its sixth annual Elephant Day tomorrow (Saturday) with stalls, live music, arts and crafts in The Square.

The day marks the discovery of rare straight-tusked elephant fossils discovered in Summerland Street in 1844.

This year the event will support The Calvert Trust Exmoor, which enables people with physical, sensory and learning disabilities to experience outdoor activities.

The day, which will also host hula-hoopers, ice creams, jugglers and a mega raffle, will run from 9am until 5pm.
