10-year-old Hope Unstead will be cycling 34 miles to raise money for the Children’s Hospice South West.
A DETERMINED 10-year-old is taking on a 34 mile bike ride for charity in memory of her granddad for the Children’s Hopsice South West.
Hope Unstead decided she wanted to take on the challenge on Saturday – what would have been her granddad Bob’s birthday.
The Newport School pupil will be setting off from Braunton, cycling to Torrington, and then turning around and cycling back to Fremington Quay.
“I’m a bit nervous and I think it will be a challenge but I know I can do it,” said Hope.
“I really like cycling and I wanted to have a road bike like my Dad.”
Proud dad Andy Unstead, who himself is a keen cyclist, said he will be accompanying Hope on her trip on Saturday.
“She just came up with the idea all by herself, we’re very proud of her” he said.
Hope has already raised more than £270 – to sponsor her visit www.justgiving.com/andy-unstead.
