Indoor charity row at TM Fitness for Macmillan Cancer Support
A Barnstaple fitness instructor has rowed the equivalent of Ilfracombe to Swansea and back for charity.
Lawrence Tydd, 30, completed 100,000 metres or 62 miles in eight-and-a-half hours to raise more than £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
He was inspired to support the charity after his wife’s sister was diagnosed with breast cancer and received great help from Macmillan.
He said of his epic row: “It’s an ultra endurance challenge that not many people have done individually. It is usually done as a team. It appealed to me because it was quite extreme and unusual.
“Thanks to Tom Matthews at TM Fitness, friends and family for supporting me for this event.”
