Barnstaple first aid course champions life-saving skills

Red cross offering one-day course in July

The British Red Cross is inviting people to learn life-saving first aid skills through a one-day course in Barnstaple.

The course, which takes place on July 12 at the Red Cross Centre, aims to give people the knowledge and confidence to deal with an emergency situation.

Pam Willerton, community-based first aid coordinator in North Devon, said: “The idea of the course is to make it extremely accessible so people go away with the basic life-saving skills we all need in our daily lives, and the confidence to put them into practice.”

The course costs £60 and will run from 9am-5pm. To book a place, please visit www.redcross.org.uk, or contact Jane McLaughlan on 01392 353284 or jmclaughlan@redcross.org.uk.
