BARNSTAPLE firefighters answered a call to public toilets at the town's cattle market site yesterday (Wednesday) following reports of a toilet roll on fire.

They found the fire involved a paper dispenser in the toilets. Crews gained access to another area of the toilet and found some wood had also been charred.

A bucket of water was used to extinguish the outbreak and some wood was also cut away. The building was ventilated.
