The Gurkha restaurant is officially open to members of the public for the first time tonight; but invited guests packed into the Market Street curry house to sample a selection of Nepalese and Indian dishes at the special ceremony.

"It's delightful to see another business opening, especially in the middle of a recession," said Cllr Phillips.
