Barnstaple Town Centre Management (TCM) is calling on local businesses to help boost its Christmas celebrations.

The town’s Christmas light switch-on event on Sunday, November 19 will kick-start an exciting programme of events leading up to the big day, including the return of late-night shopping.

Barnstaple TCM said the Christmas lights and activities are only possible with the support of local businesses, and is offering a range of sponsorship opportunities for the festive programme.

Town centre manager Hannah Harrington said: “We love Christmas in Barnstaple and always strive to bring the best in decorations and entertainment to town at this key time of the year.

“However, this is only possible due to the support of our members and sponsors and the more we have the more we can do!

“With a festival programme going to 30,000 homes in North Devon, sponsoring Christmas is not only a great way to help us celebrate our town but also a fantastic marketing opportunity.”

Last year’s Christmas light switch-on ceremony saw some 10,000 people watch community heroes illuminate the town.
