Barnstaple Children’s Centre mural to be unveiled

YOUNG artists have been busy putting the finishing touches to a colourful mural set to be unveiled tomorrow (Thursday) at Sticklepath Children’s Centre in Barnstaple.

The past few weeks have seen families and nominated young artists from the community working together on scheme after the centre won a �500 grant from the Action for Children’s Arts Bank initiative.

A series of workshops to design the mural have been followed by the young people working after school and on Saturdays to complete it.

The finished work will cover two sides of the building and feature many different wooden panels children using the centre will be encouraged to touch and explore.

The mural will be unveiled at 5pm tomorrow by North Devon Council leader, Councillor Des Brailey, who officially opened the centre.
