THIEVES in Barnstaple made a model getaway with a stash of radio controlled vehicles worth more than �2,300.

Burglars broke into a garage in Magnolia Close, Whiddon Valley, and stole a number of radio-controlled models and accessories, including a transmitter for a model plane worth �900 and three model cars worth a total of �1,300.

Other accessories, including chargers and batteries, were also taken between 8pm on May 23 and 9am the following day.
