Logo depicts rich history

THE team behind Barnstaple’s new branding campaign has looked to the past to create a contemporary new image for the town.

Artavia Advertising said it had designed the “helix flower” logo to represent the rich trading history of the town. The colourful logo is made up of eight Bs and also symbolises growth, with the individual petals showing the coming together of town centre business to create a stronger united brand.

The logo sits on a wave of water in a nod to the town’s historical standing as an important riverside trading port.

The ancient reference to Barnstaple as a ‘staple port’ has also been used to suggest the idea that the town is a “must” for everyday goods, services, culture and entertainment.
