Two mums new to the North Devon area who struggled to find local family services and activities have set up a one-stop networking website to help others in the same boat.
Jade Ruby and Claire Collett met at a baby class and were surprised at how tricky it was to locate information on things to do or child-friendly facilities.
So they decided to fix it and now Barnstaple Babies and Beyond is at www.barnstaplebab.com and offers family-friendly information for the North Devon area.
They work with local businesses, services and groups to offer opportunities such as discounts and showcase the best options for local families.
Jade said: “We want it to be a one-stop shop for information, everything a parent might need.
“We also want to focus on the loneliness aspect as 81 per cent of mums leave the house less than twice a week, according to selfishmother.com.”
They have organised a drop in on the first Tuesday of each month at the Bull and Bear in Barnstaple at 11.30am and the first one saw 20 mums and their children go along.
