POLICE are investigating the cause of a fire which destroyed a hay barn at High Bickington overnight.
Fire appliances from Chulmleigh and Torrington initially attended together with a water bowser from Barnstaple.
The crews confirmed that the barn was well alight and requested two fire appliances from Barnstaple to attend.
The barn contained 100 tonnes of hay and two 1,000-litre diesel tanks.
