A barn containing 150 tonnes of straw at Bittadon near Muddiford was left severely damaged after a fire on Wednesday teatime.
Two fire crews from Ilfracombe plus a water bowser from Barnstaple were called to the 20 by 30 metre building on a Bittadon farm just after 5.30pm.
They fought the fire using two main waters jets, with water supplied from the bowser via a dam.
One fire crew stayed in attendance through the evening, as the barn was left to burn itself out.
