Barn containing tractors on fire in Combe Martin

Fire fighters are currently at the scene of a large barn blaze in Combe Martin.

Fire fighters have been busy fighting a barn blaze at a farm in Combe Martin this morning (Monday).

Crews from Ilfracombe and Combe Martin plus a water carrier from Barnstaple arrived at 6.20am.

They found the barn, which contained tractors, well alight.

Crews are making efforts to save a second barn using one covering jet.

A light portable pump was being used to get water from an open supply.

By 7.25am three main jets and four breathing apparatus are now in use.

At 8.35am breathing apparatus use had stopped but the three jets were still in use.

Crews are continuing to make steady progress dampening down the fire, with the last update at 11.45am.
