Babies taken to hospital after Barnstaple car crash

Emergency services quick on scene after two car collision outside Barnstaple Fire Station.

TWO babies were taken to hospital after two cars collided outside Barnstaple Fire Station this morning (Thursday).

The 10am crash between a grey Vauxhall Corsa and a blue Citroen Xsara happened on North Road.

Police said the infants were taken to North Devon District Hospital by South Western Ambulance Service as a precaution.

Officers helped direct traffic as fire fighters made the vehicles safe.
