FIFTEEN staff members from North Devon schools have been honoured for gaining additional qualifications to enhance the work they do for the region's children.

They were among 200 countywide presented with their certificates by Devon County Council's Executive Director of Children and Young People's Services, Anne Whiteley, and Cabinet Member for Children's Health and Wellbeing, Andrea Davis, at a ceremony in Exeter.

They included teaching assistants, meal time assistants, kitchen staff, cleaners, librarians and administrative staff .

North Devon recipients were:

Teaching assistant NVQ and HLTA - Susan Brown and Lisa Johnston (West Croft Junior School, Bideford).

HLTA and A1 Assessor - Margaret McCann (Bideford College).

HLTA - Georgina Kelly and Helen Paddon (Park Community School, Barnstaple); Tonia West (Our Lady and St Patrick's RC Nursery and Primary School); Julie Williams (Fremington CP and Nursery School); Janet Davis (Bideford College); Kay Quy (Appledore Community Primary); Ruth Ellis, Joanna Fogarty and Julia Kliem (Caen Community School, Braunton); Elli Howarth (Berrynarbor C of E Primary, Ilfracombe); Clair Medhurst (Parracombe C of E Primary).
