THE motor vehicle department at North Devon College is revved up with excitement after overtaking 350 other training providers to win a top award.It was named Approved Centre of the Year at the IMI (Institute of the Motor Industry) Outstanding Achievers Awards 2008, one of the most prestigious titles within further education and the motor vehicle industry.The IMI recognised the commitment the college's Motor Vehicle section has demonstrated in delivering qualifications, working with local industry and developing the skills of employers and students. At an awards ceremony in Hertford, the accolade was presented to Darren Armstrong, section leader in the department, by Prince Michael of Kent."This is a great achievement for the section and it is down to the hard work of the staff and commitment from local employers," said Darren.For details of motor vehicle courses call (01271) 342293.
