POLICE in North Devon are searching for witnesses following an attempted burglary at a house in Bishops Tawton.The residents of the property in Deer Wood Drive were awoken by the alarm going off just after 3 a.m. on Friday, May 31.They went downstairs to see the patio door ajar. The door had been locked prior to the householders going to bed, meaning someone had managed to open it without using force.The security light and that of the neighbouring property were both on. Police say it is clear someone tried to gain entry, but was scared off by the alarm.Anyone who may have any information regarding this incident is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 quoting crime reference CB/09/2189
