APPLEDORE Churchfields Playground needs your help! That is the cry to the community from those who are working to bring the run-down site up to scratch.Spokeswoman Mary Braid explained that in 1992 children from Appledore and Lampard Vachell schools and some parents designed an inclusive playground which was accessible for all children to play together. The playground subsequently received an award from the International Play Association. But now the site is looking very sorry and has lost equipment that made it fun, she said. Hopes rely on getting a share of government money being made available through Devon County Council to revamp playgrounds in the county."We need to show that our community would like a better playground for our children and a public meeting is being held at 10.30am on Saturdayat St Mary's Church Hall, she said.
