Work has begun on building a new petrol station at Atlantic Village in Bideford.
Work has begun on a brand new fuel station in Bideford.
Planning permission was granted to Asda for the petrol station at its Bideford store in June this year.
It is currently being constructed in the long-stay car park at the Atlantic Village site.
The fuel station sees the loss of 44 parking spaces but a spokesperson for Asda said it would be a welcome addition to the town.
He said: “Work is underway on Bideford’s new petrol filling station which is due to open later this year and we’re looking forward to providing local motorists with a more convenient and competitively priced place to fill up.”
Jean Sharples, Atlantic Village centre manager, added: “We are really pleased to see Asda opening a petrol filling station at Atlantic Village.
“This will expand and enhance the range of facilities available to customers.”
Across the road at Atlantic Park, planning permission for an illuminated totem sign was granted to Domino’s this week, but the chain has still not yet confirmed when it will be opening.
