Roundswell Residents Association is looking for schools, colleges and companies to come together to help spruce up part of the area.

A Barnstaple residents group is on the lookout for artists to help transform parts of the area.

Roundswell Residents Association has spent much of 2016 clearing the underpass near Sainsbury's.

Now they are looking for artists, schools, colleges and businesses to help them take the area's transformation to the next level.

Association chairman Graham Turner said: "The county council has given us permission to paint the wings of the two underpasses.

"We thought it would be fantastic if we could get some scenes of Devon or similar artwork, like a mural on each of the eight wings.

"We are looking for artists to do it and companies to sponsor each wing of the two underpasses where they could have their name included.

"We are just trying to make it look attractive. We have put in a lot of hard work and it looks fantastic now, but we want to take it to its next phase."

The group works tirelessly to keep Roundswell looking its best, with regular litter picking sessions.

The clearing of one side of the underpass saw them fill more than 50 green bins and six bags of tins and bottles, and remove a half a three-piece suite.

They have also taken over painting of the lampposts in the area, and are looking to replace some of the signage too.
