Police seek witnesses to assault on Ilfracombe teenager

POLICE in Ilfracombe are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a teenager was assaulted by a large group of youths in the town.

The 16-year-old boy sustained injuries to his face and wrist and was taken to North Devon District Hospital by ambulance following the alleged attack on Monday, November 7.

Officers believe the incident began in the Larkstone Lane area and continued into Hillsborough Road between 6.30pm and 7pm.

Police think there were a number of witnesses to the incident and have asked anyone with any information to telephone the non-emergency number 101.

A second 16-year-old boy from Ilfracombe has been arrested for assault and later released on police bail until January 16.
