Exeter man, 92, charged with murder after woman's death
A 92-year-old man is due to appear in court charged with murder after an 87-year-old woman was found dead at a house in Exeter.
A 92-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Exeter.
Laurence Billam, of Millbrook Lane, is due to appear before Exeter Magistrates’ Court this morning, Tuesday 28 April.
It follows an incident on Sunday 19 April, when officers were called to a property in Millbrook Lane at about 12.40pm.
Devon and Cornwall Police said they had received reports of a concern for welfare. Emergency services attended and discovered 87-year-old Shirley Billam deceased at the property.
The force confirmed that her family are being supported by specialist officers.
A spokesperson said: "The woman has since been named as Shirley Billam. Her family continue to be supported by specialist officers."
No further details regarding the investigation have been released.
