POLICE, including armed response officers and a helicopter, were called to the Gorwell area of Barnstaple shortly after 9pm last night (Wednesday) after reports from a member of the public of a firearm being seen.

Around a dozen officers were involved in the incident. But after going

to an address in Concorde Drive and speaking with the occupants, they found nothing to concern them.

A 29-year-old man from Barnstaple was subsequently arrested on suspicion of wasting police time.
