New Roundswell store will bring ‘extra choice and convenience’ to customers according to retailer

Barnstaple's High Street branch of Argos has closed, paving the way for a new branch to be opened in Roundswell.

The new Argos digital store opened inside Sainsbury's on Saturday, a move which the retailer says will bring 'extra choice and convenience' to customers.

The new store will offer thousands of products for immediate pick-up, with others able to be ordered to collect in store or for home delivery.

There is also an eBay collection point for buyers to collect purchases from the online market.

The move comes after Sainsbury's acquired Home Retail Group, which owns Argos and is part of its strategy to help customers shop whenever and wherever they want.

Sainsbury's head of property communications David Mills said: "Sainsbury's has been a part of the local community for a number of years and we are really thrilled to welcome Argos and its team to our store.

"The new shop is great for customers, who are looking for easier, more convenient ways to shop.

"We're looking forward to feedback from customers about the increased range and offer."
